Day 1: Frankfurt > Rudesheim > Heidelberg
The first day of your culinary journey through Germany leads you to the southwestern part. En-route from Frankfurt to Rudesheim view the vines growing on the slopes along the Rhine river. While in Rudesheim we recommend visiting a wine museum where you can try local wines of the region.No culinary tour would be complete without trying Rheinischer Sauerbraten, a pot roast marinated in vinegar. Continue to Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university town. Lunch included.
Day 2: Heidelberg > Hohenzollern > Lake Constance
Travel from Heidelberg to Lindau. The recommended route winds its way through the famous area of the Black Forest. At Hohenzollen Castle you’ll try a real Swabian speciality, Kasspatzle, a special type of pasta and cheese for today’s lunch. Continue to the small island of Lindau in Lake Constance. This evening e recommend enjoying a wine tasting near the lake where you can tr different types of regional wines. Breakfast & Lunch included.
Day 3: Lake Constance > Munich
Leave Germany’s wine region and reach the capital of Bavaria, famous for its beer culture as well as for hearty meals. On arrival in Munich enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city including the most famous attractions such as the elegant Marienplatz with its famous clock tower. Partake in a real Bavarian experience with dinner in a local authentic Bavarian restaurant, where you can try a Bavarian delicacy of Schweinshave, a port knuckle, with freshly drafted beer. Breakfast & Dinner included.
Day 4: Munich
Enjoy a Munich Beer Tour. During this walking tour visit some micro-breweries where you can sample different types of beer. Visit the famous Vikuallenmarkt, a big street market with a huge variety of fresh food and delicatessens. See the famous Hofbrauhaus, the world’s most famous tavern! Learn interesting facts about the history of beer making. Breakfast included.
Day 5: Nuremberg
Travel to Nuremberg, located in Franconia. The highlight of the afternoon is an interesting tour through the underground cellars of Nuremberg. Learn the history and the elaboration of beer since the 19th century. End the tour with a presentation and tasting at the local brewery. Breakfast included.
Day 6: Nuremberg
This morning visit Nuremberg’s historic city centre and learn more about its impressive history. See the well-preserved Kaiserburg Castle, Gothic churches, romantic houses and peaceful squares. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Breakfast included.
Day 7: Nuremberg > Rothenburg > Frankfurt
Leave the city in the direction of Rothenburg, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities along the Romantic Road. Enjoy a tour of this lovely medieval town, concluding with your last typical German lunch of the famous Franconian potato dumplings. Your package ends in Frankfurt. Breakfast included.
